How to install a free SSL certificate (Let's Encrypt) in cPanel

Enable free HTTPS for your domain, with automatic renewal, directly from cPanel — at no extra cost.

An SSL certificate enables HTTPS on your site, protects visitor data, and is a ranking factor Google uses. Every CHLink hosting plan includes free SSL certificates, issued automatically via AutoSSL (Let's Encrypt / Sectigo), with automatic renewal every 90 days.

Checking and enabling the certificate

  1. First make sure the domain has an A record pointing to your hosting account's IP address (see the Zone Editor guide above).
  2. Log in to cPanel and go to "Security" → "SSL/TLS Status".
  3. Select the domain (or check all domains) and click "Run AutoSSL".
  4. Wait a few minutes — the system automatically validates domain ownership and issues the certificate.
  5. Confirm it's active by visiting the site with https:// and checking for the padlock icon in your browser.
AutoSSL runs automatically and periodically for all active domains, so in most cases you don't need to do anything manually — the certificate renews itself before it expires.
