Softaculous is an automatic app installer available in cPanel that lets you install WordPress (or other applications like PrestaShop, Joomla, Moodle) in a few steps, without manually uploading files via FTP or configuring the database separately.
Installing WordPress
- Log in to cPanel and go to the "Software" → "Softaculous Apps Installer" section.
- Search for "WordPress" in the app list and click "Install Now".
- Choose the "https://" protocol (if the SSL certificate is already active) and select the domain you want to install on.
- Leave the "In Directory" field empty if you want WordPress installed directly on the root domain (not in a subfolder).
- Fill in the site name, an admin username, and a strong password for the WordPress admin account.
- Click "Install" and wait for it to finish — you'll get a link to the site and to the admin dashboard (wp-admin).
If you want HTTPS and haven't enabled the SSL certificate yet, follow the free SSL certificate guide above first.
