Softaculous is an automatic app installer available in cPanel that lets you install WordPress (or other applications like PrestaShop, Joomla, Moodle) in a few steps, without manually uploading files via FTP or configuring the database separately.

Installing WordPress

  1. Log in to cPanel and go to the "Software" → "Softaculous Apps Installer" section.
  2. Search for "WordPress" in the app list and click "Install Now".
  3. Choose the "https://" protocol (if the SSL certificate is already active) and select the domain you want to install on.
  4. Leave the "In Directory" field empty if you want WordPress installed directly on the root domain (not in a subfolder).
  5. Fill in the site name, an admin username, and a strong password for the WordPress admin account.
  6. Click "Install" and wait for it to finish — you'll get a link to the site and to the admin dashboard (wp-admin).
If you want HTTPS and haven't enabled the SSL certificate yet, follow the free SSL certificate guide above first.
